About EJS
Exile on Jones Street is a blog about politics, policy and governance in the state of North Carolina.
My name is Kirk Ross. You can email me at editor at capefearmercury dot com
Update: Someone told me I needed a short bio (ugh). Here it is:
Kirk Ross is a longtime North Carolina journalist, musician and public policy enthusiast. In 2006 he co-founded The Carrboro Citizen, a weekly newspaper and Web site that serves Orange and Chatham counties. Before striking out on his own, he served as Managing Editor and online development manager for the Independent Weekly. Prior to that he was a reporter for the Chapel Hill News covering government, higher education, politics and schools. Ross has won more than a dozen press awards including the North Carolina Press Associations’ top investigative reporting award in 2002 for his work on post 9/11 immigration and labor issues.
He covers state government and public policy in his column and blog www.exileonjonesstreet and travels the state in search of “items of interest” for the Cape Fear Mercury (www.capefearmercury.com).
Thinking about it, the phrase should really read “the storied Chapel Hill News.”
Update: Someone suggested I should have my picture taken with a dog. Even the dog found this awkward. Ah well, anything for better government.
