Sunday Morning Post

Good morning. Nice cool day.
Undoing — even for only three days — a regressive tax is a progressive move. It seems the spin is always “it costs the state this much” when in reality, amping up consumer spending is going to boost the state’s economy far beyond what the take in sales taxes would have been. Stores will have to add shifts, order inventory and so on. And it’s not like the typical consumer is going to take that 6 percent savings and go invest it in foreign bonds. Yeah, it might be a ‘gimmick’ but it’s one that puts money in the pockets of people who could most use it in an economy like this one.

Meanwhile,
• Big bunch of rallies against AZ. Immigration Law
• And the counter rally draws a, um, crowd.
• The latest in euphemisms is at least a little more blunt than pacification: Targeted Killing
