Historical errors
OK, ya got me. Now I really want to read this stuff:
RALEIGH, N.C. — A woman hired by outgoing state House speaker Jim Black to document the history of the House produced unacceptable work that shouldn’t be made public, Black said.
Ann Lassiter, a former coordinator of the House’s page program, was hired after Black created the temporary historian position in May 2005. Lassiter was paid up to $50,627 annually but had not completed her work when the job ended last month.
“The work that she has produced, in my opinion, is not complete and needs additional editing and further research,” Black told the Charlotte Observer through a spokeswoman Wednesday. “I will turn all of these documents over to the new speaker and he can decide how to best use this research and if additional work needs to be done.”
