Smithfield day of action

In the wake of last week’s walk out and protests at Smithfield’s Tar Heel plant, the Justice at Smithfield people are calling for a day of action on Dec. 2. Actions planned include protests at ten NC Harris Teeter stores to demand they drop products from the plant.

    Thanks for covering the Smithfield story. As far as I can tell the only people tracking this seriously are you and The Nation.

    Thanks Greg. Working on something more extensive about it this week.
    The whole no-match letter rule change and the way labor in America works is a house of cards.
    Wish I could point you to the stuff I wrote on this for McClatchy years ago, but it’s behind the wall.
