Jets

In case you Chapel Hillians (or anyone else) missed it, here’s the audio of the jets practicing for the fly-over this Saturday. Note the angry squirrels and the sounds of children at recess.

Audio: Here come the jets

That must be part of the soundtrack to occupation.

So this is the 30 seconds of sound that everyone is so upset about? Unbelievable!

Nice audio! Not sure where Kirk was, but it was a hell of a lot louder at my house in carrboro next to Fitch’s. The flew directly over my house really low. Bill.. I’m usually not that skiddish.. but the 1st time this happened to me and my wife a few years ago. We were unlocking our front and literally fell to the ground cowering in fear. Truly terrifying when your not expecting it. At least this year I vaguely remembered the flyover as I was cowering. I guess it pays to read the newspaper.

They pretty much flew over my house although a bit higher than they did over areas near the stadium.
I think they did three passes.

I watched the practice run. The jets flew directly above my building on the corner of Church and Franklin (I was outside). Altitude about 100′ above University Towers.

They were so loud it set off car alarms for several blocks. The gals at Aveda came pouring out wondering what the heck was going on.

Nothing like seeing $1/2 billion of war porn winging its way over your town.
