Monday Morning Post

Woke up with this song in my head:

There’s a hold up in the Bronx,
Brooklyn’s broken out in fights.
There’s a traffic jam in Harlem
That’s backed up to Jackson Heights.
There’s a scout troup short a child,
Kruschev’s due at Idlewild
Car 54, Where Are You?

Weird. I think it means something. Probably that I think this country is going to hell in a ham biscuit.
Meanwhile,
• Memo to IRS: Jerry’s sounding a little, uh, political.
• The great Al Kamen
Incompetent jerks with their heads in the sand
• The center cannot hold in Congress
Real MPG would have saved us some serious oil importin’
• Hey what do ya know—we’re going broke
Newsweek’s target marketing
