Chancellor raises

Fresh out of the UNC Board of Governors meeting:

At the close of today’s meeting of the UNC Board of Governors, UNC chancellors received a hefty series of raises including a $32,000 bump for UNC-Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser and new N.C. State Chancellor James Oblinger—a jump of nine percent. Both now make $337,800.

The money came from a “pool” of funds appropriated to the BOG by the General Assembly as part of the state employee pay raises in the budget. UNC system officials said the raises are meant to bring all chancellors up to the minimum for their salary range. That range is based on the salaries for peer institutions. Most of the raises are above the 6 percent average awarded faculty and administrative staff at the universities and 5.5 awarded to other state workers. Breakdown of each campus as follows.

Interesting that FSU’s Bryan got the short-end of the stick. And that they misspelled her name…
