Navassa Zoning

Usually, there’s an interesting story behind any local bill. But not a lot of folks pay much attention to them.

There’s an interesting little bill coming out of Brunswick County, though. Senate Bill 1185—Navassa Zoning Jurisdiction—is an attempt to undo a satellite zoning by the Town of Navassa on some land that is the site for one of the mega-landills I wrote about last week. The Hugo Neu site could become a massive landfill of ground up car parts from Europe. The bill just passed 50-zip. Sent by special messenger to the House, where a similar bill passed last year.
